Das Queer Cafe ist das, was wir gemeinsam daraus machen, egal ob samstägliches Entspannen mit der queeren Community, Bespaßungs- und politischer Diskussionsraum, das Ziel eines nachmittäglichen Spaziergangs mit Kind, Hund oder Oma, der Treffpunkt einer Lerngruppe oder bloß die wohlige Umgebung für Dich und Dein aktuelles Lieblingsbuch – vieles ist möglich, nichts ist muss.
Das Queer Cafe ist ein Safer Space von und für Personen, die sich im queeren Spektrum identfizieren. Queer verstehen wir als eine politische Haltung, Lebensweise und Iden@tät. Wir sind jedoch auch offen für Freund_innen und interessierte Menschen, ungeachtet von beruflichen Hintergründen, Sexualität, Geschlecht, Gender, Behinderungen, psychischen/physischen Krankheiten, Körperformen, Alter, Religion, Klasse, Herkunft und Hautfarbe.
EMPTY CLOSET GRAZ ist es ein Anliegen uns solidarisch und liebevoll auf andere zu Menschen beziehen. Wir wollen starren Normvorstellungen und engen Rollenzwängen in der Gesellschaft entgegenwirken, die uns alle beeinflussen. Das Queer Café soll ein Ort sein, der Freiraum für queere Menschen bietet – zum Quatschen, Austauschen, Ausleben und Vernetzen.
Wir positionieren uns klar gegen jegliche Diskriminierung und bemühen uns um wertschätzende und offene Kommunikation und das Respektieren der eigenen und anderer Grenzen und Bedürfnisse.
